Fram
Description: Step on board Fram and you’ll immediately be impressed by the striking polar décor.
The vessel’s beautiful interiors were inspired by Greenland, the Arctic and the Antarctic, with expedition photographs and pictures of snow-capped peaks and penguins. Fram was named after a wooden sailing ship built for Norwegian explorer Fridjof Nansen for a North Pole adventure in 1892.
But as the newest addition to the Hurtigruten Cruises fleet, she also boasts excellent modern leisure facilities including two heated outdoor Jacuzzis and a glazed observation salon.
Fram might be used to frozen climes, but she is just as at home on cruises exploring the remote islands fringing the British coastline.
Typical itinerary: Depart the vibrant Norwegian town of Bergen to discover the isles lying among the wild waters of northern Britain and the Irish Sea. Explore Lewis and Harris, with thousands of years of human history, see highlights of the Irish mainland and visit the fascinating Isles of Scilly before ending in Portsmouth on a 9-day Discover the Highlights of the British Isles cruise.
