If the headline confuses, then it might just be you’re one of the few who’s yet to watch Lee Mack in his hit BBC comedy “Not Going Out”.
Despite the popular shows title, Lee most certainly was going out when he arrived at Portsmouth International Port recently - the storyline taking him on a ferry journey.
A crew of around 40 descended on the Port for a full day’s filming. In total 6 trucks full of equipment and 25 cars arrived for the shoot. Not surprisingly passengers wanted to know what was happening, as Lee and the film crew filmed scenes in car check in lanes that weren’t being used that day.
The comedy has been a peak time feature on BBC1 since 2006. Whilst we’re sworn to keeping the plot a secret, you can judge from the photographs that much fun was had! Holidaymakers and Port staff were able to pose for pictures with the star in between takes.
The eighth series of “Not Going Out” is due to air next year, and staff at the Port are looking forward to seeing their workplace take a starring role.
