Local business leaders learn more about Portsmouth International Port
Portsmouth International Port plays a crucial role as an economic engine for the city and wider region - not just a major employer and a contributor to council funds, but also helping to generate income and wealth for a wide range of other businesses.
Making sure local business leaders know what is planned at the Port and how they can benefit is a key ambition of Mike Sellers, Port Director. At the end of February he invited the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to visit the Port, giving more than 30 of them a glimpse into exciting plans for the future.
Alongside Ian Palacio, the business development manager, Mike explained to his guests how the port operates and the challenges it faces. The detailed presentation also covered the opportunities presented by this important transport hub, and how businesses that are large and small can take advantage of the world class facilities they find on their doorstep.
The briefing at Portsmouth International Port is part of a diverse programme of events devised by the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and held right across the county. Members were joined by visitors, all from a wide range of different companies and organisations - a chance not just to learn more about the port, but also to network with other business leaders.
