Impressive sized images of Portsmouth’s most loved landmarks and lesser known hidden gems are being chosen this month, in preparation for a new exhibition in the passenger terminal.
Up to 20 pictures, each standing 8 feet tall and 4 foot wide, will be hung in the terminal during October half term.
The exhibition is entitled “Portsmouth & Me”, and features the work of students from nearby Highbury College. Throughout the summer the AS Level photography students have been taking pictures that depict what Portsmouth means to them - collating an impressive collection of images.
Richard Blair, Educational Trainer at Highbury College, said: “Portsmouth is in the DNA of these students, and they've spent the summer selecting the sights that mean most to them. The results are impressive, and the light and airy passenger terminal will be the perfect place to display their talented take on our wonderful city.”
The exhibition is a reflection on the #PortsmouthTakesYouThere campaign, launched earlier this year to highlight the wonderful experiences passengers can enjoy on a journey to and through the Great Waterfront City.
Mike Sellers, port director of Portsmouth International Port, said “Having seen a small selection of these pictures I know passengers will be in for a treat when the exhibition opens in October. These massive images will fit perfectly into the spacious terminal, and give a real insight into the city that waits to be discovered just minutes away.”
