PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR CONTINENTAL FERRY PORT - LINKSPAN SIGNAL LIGHTS
1. The attention of all Mariners and in particular those in charge of ferries using the Continental Ferry Port is drawn to the red and green signal lights displayed from the linkspans for the purpose of conveying the following information:
| RED | On the approach of a ferry - the linkspan is NOT ready for you. You may come onto the berth but must remain at least 20 metres from the linkspan. |
| RED | When the berth is occupied - the hook or a linkspan support wire is connected, or a gangway is into the vessel, and/or the vessel is not clear to use main propulsion or thrusters. |
| GREEN | On the approach, of a ferry - the linkspan is ready for you. |
| GREEN | When the berth is occupied the hook or the linkspan support wires are disconnected, the gangway is out of the vessel, and the vessel is clear to use main propulsion and thrusters. |
