Cross Solent Charity Swim - 31 July 2010

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that a Cross Solent Swim in aid of Ryde Inshore Rescue will take place at 0810 on Saturday 31 July 2010.



2. One swimmer will be taking part in the event and the swimmer will be closely followed by a kayak. In addition, there will be a 19’ yellow and blue launch acting as a Mother Craft (Call Sign GOSHAWK) accompanying the swimmer and kayak. The GOSHAWK will display the International Code ‘ALPHA’ Flag, whilst escorting the swimmer.



3. The proposed route of the swim is from Ryde East Sands to the Southsea War Memorial via the North Sturbridge Buoy and Swashway. The swimmer will be starting at approximately 0810.



4. All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmer and the support craft during their crossing of the Solent.
