Portsmouth Port - Britains best connected ferry port

Following on from the fantastic success of the 2006 & 2007 opening rounds of the Royal Yachting Association UK National Offshore Powerboat series in Guernsey the Union Internationale Motonautiqe awarded the island the 2008 Two Litre Offshore Powerboat World Championships. This event will see teams battle for the famous & coveted crown of UIM Two Litre Offshore Powerboat World Champions over a series of three races. The courses will run in the exciting waters between Guernsey and Sark and will start & finish outside St. Peter Port. Spectators will be able to see the racing action from vantage points along St Peter Port's sea front and elsewhere on Guernsey's south east coast. The action is guaranteed not to disappoint with over 30 closely matched boats battling it out in the Islands challenging waters! The race pits and entertainment areas are to be situated on the East arm of the QE2 marina. Here the high tech race boats will be on full display to the public with teams expected from Italy, France, Scandinavia and many other countries competing in a variety of boat designs.
