There’s further good news this month for the man who has helped to make sure everyone maintains the very highest standards of safety and service at Portsmouth International Port.
Already bestowed the title of Quality Professional of the Year, port manager John Feltham has now been given full details of why the Chartered Quality Institute chose him to be the recipient of its prestigious global award.
Recently released feedback from judges for the 2017 CQI Quality Awards shows how they were impressed with him “driving radical change in a challenging sector”, describing John as “quite clearly a role model”.
The judges were impressed with John’s broad understanding and appreciation of quality, and how it relates to Portsmouth International Port, the environment and the society it operates in.
The CQI says the caliber of entries for the 2017 CQI International Quality Awards was very high, and the judges faced tough decisions in nominating finalists in each of the categories.
The judges said John was chosen as the winner because he “had been instrumental in influencing a culture of change, working with employees at all levels of the organisation”. They were touched by his personal story, noting that John’s “own journey through the quality profession is inspiring.”
