Final preparations are being made to promote Portsmouth International Port at the UK’s leading event for the freight transport, logistics and supply chain management industries.
It’s the first time the entire Port operation has been represented at the Multimodal exhibition, an event at the NEC in Birmingham that is now in its eleventh year.
In past years promotion has focused solely on MMD Ltd, the leading importer and handler of fresh produce and other goods based at Portsmouth International Port. In 2018 though, activities from all 66 acres of the Portsmouth International Port site will be represented.
Last year Multimodal attracted nearly ten thousand attendees, and Port managers believe now is the time to widen the scope of their own exhibit. Representatives from each area of Port operations, ferry, freight, cargo and cruise, will be at the NEC from 1-3 May meeting potential customers about the benefits of using Portsmouth International Port.
As well as promoting import/export at MMD Ltd, managers hear more about logistics operations using the extensive ferry network. Portsmouth International Port offers a bigger choice of routes and services to France, Spain and the Channel Islands than any other British Port. With a motorway connection almost to the ferry doors there are huge advantages of bringing freight through Portsmouth.
